Nordstrom Internship | The Final Recap

Hey, everyone!

It’s been a crazy last few weeks which is why I haven’t been posting according to schedule :/ With the Anniversary Sale in full effect (now over) and the internship coming to an end, my focus has been on work, work, & more work. However, I just thought I’d wrap things up with how my last few weeks as an intern were spent.

Let me start by saying the Anniversary Sale is one of the biggest times of the year for Nordstrom as a company. It’s about a three and a half week long event where we sell brand new fall merchandise at up to 40% off! Everyone gets excited about this because it’s sort of a big deal. With that being said, the sale falls right at the end of the internship, so most of our time was spent on the floor selling, with little to no meetings.

Experiencing my first Anniversary was a little insane. It was filled with working LONG (and I mean really long) hours, running around, and most importantly, servicing customers. It was fun and hard work, but I definitely look forward to working more in the future.

For our last day as interns, our intern mama (HR Assistant) and grandmama (HR Manager), set up the cutest lunch for us to have our “graduation.” Each of our Department Managers were there and did a little speech for us, which was the sweetest thing ever!

Overall, I appreciate getting the opportunity to be a part of this program; it was also probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I can honestly say that my department manager is absolutely AMAZING and she has taught me so much in just the 2 months of me being there. Nordstrom is a wonderful company and I look forward to continuing work there and making my way down the pyramid (inverted pyramid).

I hope you’ve all enjoyed my recap. If you haven’t already, check out the previous posts (Week 1, 2, 3, 4+5) for more detailed reviews.
